Ubiquity Dallas will be conducting emergency maintenance on one of its upstream transit providers on the morning of Friday, February 26, 2010 between 4 AM and 5 AM CST.
Ubiquity Dallas will be conducting emergency maintenance on one of its upstream transit providers on the morning of Friday, February 26, 2010 between 4 AM and 5 AM CST. An intra-facility ring providing service to Ubiquity Dallas's network has been determined to be faulty. As part of the diagnostic process we disconnected our equipment from this circuit and connected it directly to our transit providers router via a dark fiber circuit, bypassing the intra-facility ring. This immediately resolved all issues that we were experiencing, thereby resulting in our diagnostic of the intra-facility ring to be the cause of the trouble. We will be continuing to utilize the dark fiber circuit for our upstream connectivity to this transit provider. On the morning of Friday, February 26, 2010 between the hours of 4 AM and 5 AM CST (Incident Local Time) our Dallas facilities team will be re-locating this circuit from the current temporary route we were using for diagnostics to a new permanent route in our standard cableway. When the changeover occurs, some clients may see a brief period of increased latency or lost connectivity lasting less then 5 minutes. We will post updates here as soon as the maintenance has been completed or if we have any additional information.
